Besides the constant competition we face amongst ourselves that encourages us to do better, work harder…my colleagues have also inspired me to think of work that never seriously crossed my mind. Homeless youth! It’s the saddest thing ever. So much potential…but kicked out of their homes just because they’re LGBT or whatever sad family situation they had.
Also, turning over new leaves. Professional school straightens people out, I think. Makes them explore who they want to be; how they want to present themselves to the world. My friend could have taken a random girl home tonight, but did not. That was pre-law school life. And, sober life.
The great thing about being in a city full of gays is that you have choices! “Too many choices,” she responded. “All the pretty ones are craaazy.”
